Taekwondo Demo I was in
2008-05-05, 12:22 PM #1
Rochester Institute of Technology just held an event called "Imagine RIT," a big innovation festival or something. Long story short, the Taekwondo club got to put on a demonstration for it.

Video below! In case you don't recognize me in my extreme sexiness, I'm the blackbelt in the white uniform on stage left in the beginning.

I did. It was good.

Flashbacks to being on a TKD demo team and teaching kids classes.

:psyduck:

Wait did you want me to watch it at regular speed?

Was Kirby your cameraman?

Also real sparring > slow motion choreography. Dragon kicks are cool though.

Yes, but real sparring takes up quite a bit of time, doesn't fit to music, and is not very conducive to a short demo.

Dragon kicks?

Yeah I'm not sure what he meant by dragon kicks...I think a dragon punch is better.

That flying kick. That was you doing it at the end, wasn't it? If not, you're not nearly as cool as I thought you were.

Haven't you ever played Dead or Alive? It's like the one good move Jann Lee has.

Flying side kick. :psyduck:

I couldn't stop laughing.

I like descriptive kick names. Axe kick, roundhouse kick, side kick, hook kick.

I've heard others in my time. Duck kick. Mule kick. (Now Dragon kick.) These.. are not so descriptive.

I did a flying side kick (it's a side kick, and I'm flying through the air.) over two people in headstands through two very knotty boards. Definitely could have done three, probably four if the people holding had bigger hands.

Apparently, the sign language for "Taekwondo" is "Punch wildly without intention."

I fear your ninja skills, and smashing good looks. You grew up into something sexy.

That's how it's always been said...

Some people pronounce it 'Tehk-one-do" or "Tehk-won-do" (/tɛkwɒndoʊ/)

You are short. The camera man is short. 2 + 2 = 5.
