Pommy's Poll 43: Pizza

I am realllly craving pizza right now, but I can't taste the perfect taste to satisfy that craving in my head.

Recently for whatever reason I've developed an affection for pepperoni I didn't have before (when I was a kid pepperoni was my "favorite" because it was everyone else's favorite and that was the cool thing to do)

All of those options are awesome.

Also Chicago style > NY style.

I actually don't like Chicago style because the deep dish is too greasy for me and sort of makes me gag =/

There is a sports bar in Louisville called Chubby Ray's, also known as The Louisville Pizza Company. These guys know how to make a pizza.
The stuff is nothing less than ambrosia.

I get one about once a month. Its pricey, but its like eating pie-shaped wedges of heaven.

I'm a meatlover. One of those disgusting guys who puts anything that once drew breath on his pizza.

This is a pizza thread, not a casserole thread. Make a thread about casserole and you can discuss it there.

As for pizza, I don't really do much for toppings. Maybe just some sliced onions or olives. I really shy away from meat, because it renders while cooking, and makes the pizza overly greasy. A lot of times if I make pizza, I'll just put some garlic and olive oil on it, and just finish off with parmesan and black pepper.

Does no one here eat supreme? Why would I want a boring one-topping pizza? That's dumb. I'm mad.

I usually get a pizza with italian sausage, green peppers (or green chiles) with no cheese. Love the occasional pineapple / chicken pizza.

Artichokes are awesome too.

Anyone who eats pizza with pineapple disgusts me.

Pepperoni, jalapeño, black olive. The best combination of toppings, period. Everything else is an affront to thin-crust pizza.

You made a thread about pizza and yet about the wrong pizza-related subject? Geez!

I really hate pizzas that have minimum meat and are even advertised as meat pies. Yuck. Bleh. Ew!

On that matter, NY pizzas were awesome as are pan pizzas but I really ought to test Chicago deep dish pizza sometime since it can be either totally disgusting or something I've been looking for years.

Because loaded with toppings = flimsy crust that doesn't bake well

I had a large pizza from the Domino's across the road last night. One of those "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" moments after a day of drunken revelry. It had pepperoni, onion, and green pepper on it, which is my usually preferred topping. Replacing the pepperoni with chicken also works, particularly spicy chicken.

I like all the toppings you have listed, but my favorites are mushroom, pineapple, or just cheese.

I've been in NYC for three years, the pizza is s'ok. Personally, the best food this place has is deli; never had as good deli or as cheap as I've had in NYC.

Anyway, I really like the stuff from California Pizza Kitchen. I know this will leave someone aghast at this preference, but their BBQ chicken pizzas are pretty damn good.

I've always loved sausage and breakfast bacon. An amazing combination.

I LOVE CPK (and from California where they are rampant), but I have discovered a BBQ chicken pizza that is BETTER than CPK's. If you're ever in Philly, check out Allegro's on ... I think it's 40th or so and Spruce (near Penn). Amazing, huge, awesome bbq chicken pizza slices. And you can get a chicken noodle soup and a beverage with it all for < $8 last time I checked.
