Poster trying to be cool! Isn't!

I have a hard time being interested in nascar now that I'm not a kid anymore. Why is indiana jones on the same car as a green m&m?

Do you not understand the appeal of motorsports in general, or just NASCAR? Now if you just generally don't understand the appeal of any sport ...

I think it's mostly that they drive in circles for hours. A race that lasts four hours, where the winner wins by less than a car length? A close race like that can keep the tension up for a couple miles, but after 500 it's boring.

If anything, bike racing is more interesting because they are on a unique track that goes at different elevations. There are other forms of auto racing that uses a course that has its own set of curves and obstacles. The biggest problem with NASCAR that people have is the fact that it's just a giant oval. It's not so much an issue of the drivers responding to their environment that it is trying to perfect efficiency (when to get repairs/drive/speedup).

I would like to note that, AFAIK, there has NEVER been a video game based off of this specific concept. They usually cut the number of laps down, at least. That's my indicator it's very boring. Especially when you remove the whole "the-drivers-could-crash-and-die" factor from video-gaming it.

You are correct in theory, but wrong in technical fact. There are a bunch of nascar games, and all the ones I played when I was a kid (these are DOS days) had the option to do full length races as far as I can remember.

I'm not a fan of NASCAR.. basically all the drama and fans turn me away.. but you still have to respect what they do. Because driving 200mph 3 cars wide is no joke.

NASCAR. I quite enjoy cars and races. NASCAR just seems kind of meh.

I used to really be into NASCAR. But as the years have passed, I am really bored with it. I'm in a Fantasy Racing group over at Yahoo; I put drivers in to play to get points, but that's as far as I get these days. I don't even bother watching the actual races on television anymore. Like a lot of people have already said in this thread already, it's just a bunch of guys going around and around a track in their cars. After a while, it gets boring very easily.

Does anybody else find it weird that the photo is made to make the back end of the car look like it's going fast, but the bloke and rest of the car look completely stationary?
nope.

My uncle watches NASCAR to take naps. He pretends that he's interested, though.

He's in a cloud of smoke because he just spun his wheels because thats what rednecks to to celebrate.

The only races more stupid than nascar are drag races.

I think drag races are much more interesting than Nascar. My favorite races though are Motocross.

Because going in a straight line on a reflex based contest is more interesting than going around in a circle, I suppose.

umm, there has been a le mans 24 hours game, in which you DO race for 24 hours. who the hell thought that was a good idea for a game, I do not know.

Endurance races are neat. (Like on a motorcycle for example)

But... they are no fun to play in a video game.

It's not a duplicate, it's the other side. You're viewing the car from a little bit behind it (notice the tires) so you can see the back of it some.

it's not easy keeping a car with 2000hp in a straight line.. at the same time enduring the affects of g forces when you accelerate 300mph in just 4 or 5 seconds
