Thief III demo doesn't work
2004-08-08, 12:05 PM #1
I installed the Thief III demo off of a Maximum PC disk and whenever I try to play, it says that T3MAIN.EXE is corrupt(and yes, I've tried reinstalling). Can someone e-mail me a functioning version of that file? Would that even work?

You have to have Windows XP or 2000 to play. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

The [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] is probably because some people are happy with they've got and don't want to put in the extra money for a new OS. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

XP has BSODs...

You just don't see them by default. It auto-restarts.

Yea, same thing happened to me with Theif 3 and Doom 3. luckily I explained my plight to a friend and he gave me an extra copy of XP Pro (perfectly legal).

I have both 2000 and XP(my dad did some thing awhile back where he gave Microsoft a thousand dollars and they gave him all the software they developed, except games, for a few years for free. I probably even have a beta of both). However, I installed ME on my system because it was a lot easier to install than 2000 and I was very suspicious of XP at the time. Oh well, at least Ground Control II still works from the demo disk. Maybe I should play that some more.
