Plasma vs LCD

Know what's even more practical?

A flat pixel-based display that can be printed in basically any size and resolution, draws extremely little power, operates a low voltages and is compact and light enough to be incorporated into low-cost handheld or portable devices. And also isn't a high vacuum tube filled with death.

Wow, that sure would be something!

Some day, some day!

If money's no object whatsoever, go for the plasma, otherwise go for the LCD.

Yes, if you want to be out an expensive tv in 7 years or so, do this!

If money's no object to that degree, why not just buy one of both? Seriously, dropping 1k+ on a tv that stops working and fades in time is just ridiculous amounts of waste.

Of course, dead subpixels and backlight leaks are no picnic either.

If your room is nice and dim and you don't plan on moving it around much than plasma hands down. I own both and frequently game on the plasma just because the colour reproduction and the response time is incomparable. The only time I had a burn in issue was when I was playing winning eleven for 15 hours straight and the score count kinda burnt in. But after a day of normal usage it was gone.

I literally JUST bought this TV, after months of research and waiting for a good sale. 46" Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD, $1399.

edit: lost the link to it, look in the thread about purchases. Got it from best buy.

well if money's no object then you'd be building a home theater with an uber high end projector setup
eat right, exercise, die anyway

Well, you could be too :downswords: to do that or something.

you could pay a professional to do all the work...

of course if you're dropping that kind of money it's worth it to pay a professional to setup and calibrate everything

If money was no object you'd spend all your time banging movie stars instead of watching them.
