Hey,
So last month i made a decision; i will attempt to leave meat out of my diet for the June, and so far it's been a success. Soy and chili are the main keys that have helped me during the past 9 days.

Anyway, i'd like you to share some nice recipes, that have no meat. I don't care about eggs, milk etc, those are fine. They're not meat.

So far i've tried soy lasagnette, tortillas, meat(soy) soup, filled paprika, and various woks.

Vegetarian Rubens are a nice sandwhich.

If you want a quick easy snack, falafels are fun to make.

Let's see...Tabouleh is good.

I don't know of the recipes offhand and I'm at work :S

Find a Jewish Kosher cookbook and only use the dairy meals.

I am trying to think of the last meal I ate without meat, and all I can think of are the pears and pretzels I had this last drill weekend.

sounds like the "I hate myself diet"...

I don't even eat many salads without some chicken or bacon bits on it...

I love the common misconception that eating salad is healthy for you.

When you add bacon bits, or chick strips, some cheese and salad dressing....

I've been meat-free since April, and I'm loving it. i totally want to bite a cow in the *** sometimes and just let it's raw mooing flesh slide into my stomache, but for the most part it's really easy. It also helps if you like vegtables. Stir-fry is awesome, veggie-burgers, and most vegi-alternative foods are fantastic (except hotdogs. Stay the hell away from the soy dogs. YUCK. They smell like the shoe section in a wal*mart and they taste worse.)

Also, don't be shy to throw in some pineapples or oranges into your vegi creations. Sometimes it just makes it a lot more awesome.
Think while it's still legal.

I decided to revive the thread. So, i just noticed, that during these last two weeks, just by leaving the meat out from my diet, i've lost 8kg of weight. That means i'm almost not fat anymore :(

It depends on the brand, the Smart Dogs are ok but the Yves brand veggie hot dogs are pretty good in my opinion.

As for vegetarian diet being healthier: it can be but I know a lot of vegetarians who eat more fatty foods than my meat eating friends.

Another good one to add: BBQ tofu. It's easy, just put some BBQ sauce on some cut up tofu and bake it for a while in the oven at 350 (i dont know how long, you should look it up) and when they come out, add a little more sauce, lettuce, tomato, etc. if you want and it's quite good for a quick(ish) lunch.

It is quite easy to be vegetarian though, people who are like "I want to stop eating meat but I just can't" just don't want to.
