I've got a computer with a Fast/Wide SCSI-2 controller (two controllers actually). I've put an Ultra-Wide (SCSI-3) HDD into it, and it was quite happy.

If I put a 68-pin Ultra160 HDD into it, aside from the loss of transfer speed, would it work?

Speed isn't the greatest issue, it's a dual Pentium 1 with EDO ram.

Hmm, have you tried it before? I don't have one around to test unfortunately, I'm thinking of buying 5 U/160's, so would be good to know beforehand.

i have a u160 drive but nothing to test it on atm
