Izzy is my fiancée, she uses my laptop, she'd been logged in on firefox (I tend to use safari) and when I posted from my newly updated FF3 she was still logged in :)

Haha, I was very confused about what was in that link due to that.

It's nice to help people.
nope.

At least the deadness of the world record server reflects upon how successful their marketing campaign was. Hopefully it won't turn people away, though.

I'm willing to bet it is easier to just fake the results.

Hahah I got to the download page but the file I'm downloading is the FF2 installer :(

Edit: on another note, according to this,

Quote:
Firefox's third release candidate was released on Wednesday last week, and contained a fix for loading issues with Mac OS X. The final release is identical to RC3, said the organisation.

If it weren't for my wanting to be a part of Download Day I'd just stick with RC3.

When I launched this for the first time, it opened a page blah blah blahing something about Release Candidate 3. This browser itself doesn't say anywhere it would be only a release candidate, though, and I got this from mozilla-europe so it's reasonable to think this is the real thing. Well, who knows.

Seems to work ok.

US version says the same thing, they probably just didn't update the start page. FF3 only managed to kill a few of my extensions, just trying to find a good black theme now.

I've been avoiding it and just waiting for the final release. I like what I see so far. It broke Google Browser Sync and apparently Google isn't supporting it anymore, which sucks. I switched to Foxmarks, though, and it seems good enough.

I like Vista Black, although you need Stylish to run it.

I wish it did scroll bars and the extra close button I have, but it is a massive improvement over the default. THANKS.

Has anyone run into website compatibility issues yet?

By the way, is there a way to organize the history content by folders like in 2.0.

I think this is a pervasive problem with Universities.

agreed...

the worst part is that (last time I was there anyway, 8 months ago) they are still insisting we use win98 on the machines, they won't upgrade to either 2000 or XP because apparently neither of those OS's can be loaded onto the machines over the network when they start up (I'm sure there is a word for this but I can't remember it). Still this only effects the undergrads, which I am no longer part of, but meh, QM's IT services seem to be a bunch of morons...anyways, off topic....

back on topic, the number of downloads for the day reached over 8 million, verification on that number is taking place now by some university Guinness has employed to check it out.
