stupid canadian post office... they need to stop playing hockey, learn to say about and deliver packages to the US quicker

i've had packages shipped from places like bulgaria arrive quicker than anything coming from canada if the bulgarians have their postal system sorted out why can't you people in canada get a small package to southern indiana in a timely manner?

everyone else gripe about things you waited forever to arrive in the mail

Canadian Post currently holds the FGR record of shipping things the fastest from North America. Just 3 days.

But still, the only time I've unintentionally had to wait too long for something shipping-tastic was in October 2003 from Amazon.com. Times.

Urgh.

I ordered business cards from overnightprints.com

That said, I was quite aware that the order would take more than a day to print, so i spent a little extra to get 2-3 day shipping. I was leaving in 2 weeks for toronto for a very important motion conference. After many printing errors and holds, all their fault, they decided to ship them to the wrong part of NY.

I registered with my school address thinking they would be sent there, however overnight prints decided that my billing address was a better idea and without my consent shipped them there.

Needless to say I got the cards.... but not until after I returned from toronto :(

I've never had too much luck with Canuck-land either. I live in Wisconsin, but somethings still take a week or two to ship. One thing just never straight up came. This could be personal bad luck though.

I remember getting my IBM T41 from China in less than 48 hours though, and I even specifically made sure I wasn't charged extra for 2 day shipping when I ordered ground. THAT's service

eat right, exercise, die anyway
2008-06-25, 1:31 PM #7
I dunno.

Blue LEDs are about as annoying as crying ***** over omg not getting something on time wahhhhh.
2008-06-25, 1:32 PM #8
nowhere near as annoying as your unfunny attempts at being an *** :colbert:

This is actually more pointless than the Blue LEDs because this time you actually have options to change who you use, while it's a lot more difficult with circuitry.

:P
nope.

The truth is hardly anything other than annoying or unfunny.

Unless of course if you have a sense of humor.

You people don't have couriers?
nope.
2008-06-25, 1:43 PM #13
Of course we do.

when seller gives only one option you only have one option... they send it through slow *** canadian post it then goes to USPS to my house

yet numerous other countries much farther away can get stuff to me quicker it makes no sense

here let me illustrate the difference with google maps

from seller's location to me

from bulgaria to me

canada has consistently been slower getting packages to me than bulgaria

I don't complain when stuff takes forever to get here from the US. I blame your border.

My dad works in the US so I just always have stuff shipped to him and save the hassle.

Shipments from Canada are so slow that Massassi's Screenshot of the Day will be updated at least once before the shipment arrives :P

Bulgaria? What'd you order? Weapons grade plutonium from a salvaged soviet nuke?

And if you ever watched that show "ice road truckers" I think you might have more appreciation for the canadian shipping system hahaha.

Congratulations, you've discovered the magical joy of the Federal Customs Broker. Perhaps in the future you will consider a shipping option that does not require international cooperation.

We have postal codes, and they're better.

They do the exact same thing.

Don't zip codes apply to a larger area than postal codes?

I could be wrong, it's not something I've cared enough to look into.
2008-06-27, 8:53 AM #31
You must be thinking area codes for phones.

The first 5 numbers are a large area, the next 4 numbers are smaller more specific area within the larger area.

I ordered a Jarre double CD set from eBay.com from an American seller, shipping time was 7-12 days and it's been two weeks, that's 10 working days...so this is not really a complaint since it'll still be on time if it arrives next tuesday.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

The first letter is a province code, then the forward sorting area code (number and letter), then the route. They only apply to a larger area because Canada is much more sparsely populated.
