Do you think they'll ever do 7? I'd kill to have 8 on DS with Triple Triad.

Chrono Trigger DS

The only question is if it's the original or a NEW GAEM.

nope.

/me concurs.

I hope it's FF7 or 8 on my DS. That'd be a big ol bag of awesomesauce.

EDIT:

/me reads other thread and becomes disinterested.

:(

EDIT (ii) :

I've looked on wikipedia to see what CT is, and now I am re-excited.

:D

Merged my thread into this since I didn't see it >.>

And wtf at everyone not knowing instantly what it is from seeing the clock and the ticking sound >.>

Never played the games, but I picked up on what it was.

Not that interested, really. Mostly because I don't have a DS.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Chrono Trigger is really quite epic, and shame on Martyn for not having played it. Shame.

That said, I'd rather play a new Chrono game than replay the original on DS unless it's a complete overhaul like FF3 was.

I've heard of it but never played it.

I'd imagine Martyn wouldn't know either because, yknow, it was never released in Europe?
nope.
2008-07-02, 6:05 AM #13
heard of it, never played it, probably never will...

I am deeply saddened by this. How can you go on having never played what is possibly the best RPG game ever released :(
2008-07-02, 8:05 AM #15
Well clearly I get a £30 chance to remedy that now! Huzzah!

A revamp of the classic.

from the article:

With the original having shipped some 2.5 million copies the world over, Squeenix calls the portable take on the 1995 SNES role-playing classic "newly revamped," promising a new dungeon and wireless play of some sort. Touch screen support is also promised, something we're getting plenty of practice at as we paw at our computer screens in eager anticipation.

That'll do for me.

The ticking is not properly synced with the clock. :colbert:

We didn't really get any SNES RPGs to be honest.

Which is a shame because Lufia2TerranigmaChronoTriggerFF4/5/6TalesOfPhantasiaStarOceanIllusionOfGaiaSecretOfManaSeikenDensetsu3 are all really good games.

I didn't have an SNES, so I never played this before. I'm looking forward to it.

According to the gamespot article, this game isn't completely revamp. They're just tacking on an additional dungeon and wireless multiplayer. Kind of ho hum compared to the overhual 3D remakes of the early Final Fantasy games.

Oh and I'm leaning more towards a Final Fantasy VII remake on the PS3 given the tech demo from back then. It will come one day, only a question of when.
2008-07-02, 4:51 PM #28
They said they'd only do that if they could get the whole original team back together and they're all spread out everywhere doing different projects.

:(
nope.

Despite really REALLY wanting it, I'm not sure how 4 CDs or so worth of FF8 will ever fit onto one (or a sensible number of) DS cart(s).

PROVE ME WRONG YOU GIMBOIDS AT SQUARE!!!!!

A. Audio can be better compressed, into mp3 instead of straight Audio CD format.
B. Lower res cinematics + better compression technology
C. Carts can go upwards of 2GB if really necessary (Although they'd probably need to keep it below 1GB for price reasons).
2008-07-03, 8:02 AM #32
I'm sure I read somewhere there was a memory cap on DS carts... I might be making that up though.

I hope you're right though - I'd love to play FF8 again. Maybe seeing as how I still have my discs I can get an emulator for my mac...
2008-07-03, 8:19 AM #33
FF8 tends to run nicer in an emulator if you rip the discs to your harddrive first, because since the backgrounds are just images the disc likes to stop reading and then start up again when you change screen.
nope.
