Neat.

I actually kind of like the looks of it; I've always thought that Max Payne would make an excellent movie

But then again, I also (foolishly) had high hopes for Hitman, and I left the theater pissed after seeing it.

I dunno how good the story will be, but the atmosphere and action scenes in that trailer alone seem to define what is max payne. Looks like good times, now I'm excited.

Can't watch right now, but if they do it right, I could see it being great. Something like Sin City would be perfect.

Considering it's a bad game, it should make a good movie. Although, I hope the demons are figurative.

Fail.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

He needs to make that face he had in the first game.
2008-07-10, 11:14 AM #8
What the hell are the winged things?

Also, they already made a max payne film before the game.

It was called payback and starred mel gibson. :ninja:
nope.

Will we get a reproduction of Wahlberg's stellar performance in "The Happening"?

To be fair Max Payne shouldn't have a lot of dialogue.

Just monologue.
nope.

It should be 2 1/2 hours of bullet time sniper rifle diving.

Oh dear. Computer game movies are pretty much always utterly awful, regardless of how good the game was.

Ha, awesome movie, and that's so true.

Bob Marley should have gotten the role. His mug is almost always in that constipated face Payne's is.

I didn't know anyone outside of Maine knew who he was.

Someone should make a Jedi Knight movie... I mean, its practically impossible to find actors worse than the ones that are in the game's cinematics... Only bad thing is, not even regular star wars fans would want to see it.

A Jedi Knight movie would suck so hard it would catch a disease.

Who do you think you are with those mother ****ers, Bob Marley or someone? :)

And speaking of BS ... What happened to that so-called sequel?
2008-07-10, 2:26 PM #21
I'm hoping those dark angels are just the film's representation of Valkyr hallucinations. It could be good, the game itself is a kind of amalgamation of several noire films isn't it?

I remember the supposed release date was going to be some time in 2005, and it passed without a word.

According to this, they start filming in late August of this year. Personally, I'm tired of getting my hopes up and will believe it when I see it.

From the sound of it, Troy Duffy is a huge douchebag and I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear it all fell apart (if there even is something being worked on).

In the little bit there was, Mark Wahlberg does the monologue well. I wonder if it's going to have the storyline of the first max payne or if it's going to be completely different.

If they feature extended scenes from Address Unknown, this will be the best film ever. I f***ing loved that game.

That's because most games make bad movies. It's why they are games and not movies to begin with. Max Payne might actually be different.

At least they included the shoot dodge. Mona Sax also looks alright since people were worried Mila Kunis wouldn't be able to portray her.

Not constipated enough.

But did I see General Hammond?

No, it was Landry. Never mind.

Well I think it looks awesome.

Yea, I saw that. I was like neat!

Would have been neater if it was Hammond. I got enough of Bridges in The Red Pony, everything he's done since has been bleh.

i never even knew they were making this movie...

looking at the cast list... ludacris as jim bravura?

While it's an odd casting, Ludacris is actually a decent actor (at least as far as playing a disgruntled black man goes). I rather liked him in "Crash".

Yeah, he does stand up comedy. He's pretty much the only famous Mainer. If you count the fact that they have homes here, Kirstie Alley and John Travolta are ours too.
