my friend has a dual fprmat internal LG player that came with powerdvd 8. he has vista sp1. onboard ati HD 3200 and hdmi.
install went fine. software install went fine. updated LG firmware. updated windows. powerdvd still says it won't play the hd dvd because it needs periodic updates "would you like to update now?" yes. windows can't open the mime file (the powerdvd update). media center can't play the hd dvd. haven't tried a blu-ray. blah, blah, blah...

any suggestions?

IIRC hd dvd support was removed from powerdvd and windvd

anydvd hd is the only one that still supports hd dvd

eat right, exercise, die anyway
