Would you have prefered another one set during the Clone Wars or New Hope era? Because there hasn't already been 2000 games featuring that already.

The thing is, people want to play Jedi. Right now the only setting that supports Jedi without breaking canon (or being the same thing over and over again (Yuuzhan Vong / New Jedi Order era)) is the KOTOR era OR set post New Sith Order (100+ years post ANH)

I have good hopes for this game.

We'll have to see, I'm not gonna soil my pants over this announcement though.

But I can guarantee they are not the majority. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying Jedi are the end all be all of Star Wars, but lightsabers and magic powers are probably the most attractive in that genre.

+1 for the flight sim, though. A remake of XvT or something like that would be :awesome:-o.

Sorry, but Republic Commando didn't sell well for LucasArts. And I doubt LA can pull out a good flight sim inhouse.

With some more thinking on the subject, one thing I can definatly say is :

I *really* hope its a KotOR Era MMO, not one based off the KotOR storyline. The first one was amazing, but the second game's obsession with Darth Revan got overwhelmingly annoying. Darth Revan this. Darth Revan that.

I don't like the idea of an MMO set in a timeline where you know whats gonna happen before and after your character. I find its limiting and annoying.

OF COURSE I'm a roleplayer, so I don't just go in there for raids and getting blues

Although I loved both the KotOR games to bits, I will never play an MMO. So while this has piqued my interest, I won't be following it or playing it.

This game has potential. Kotor does make for a much better time line for an MMO than Star Wars Galaxies. Also, hopefully they'll do it right unlike that mess of an MMO I just mentioned.

An MMO where everyone was a jedi would suck. SWG got that part right, it was just that everything else sucked.

Granted, an MMO where just some people are jedi sucks unless you're a jedi.

SWG was and to an extent still is largely sandbox in alot of ways. Biowares thing probably wont.

Storyteller system in SWG rules.
