It's just an excuse to drink during the day.

It's fun! Either I'm really good (first swing ever - hole in one) or really, really horrible (second swing - I broke the club and was told I couldn't play on that course anymore :/ )

Mini Golf is fun, Wii Sports Golf is fun.
Actual golf bores the hell out of me

Golf is awesome fun. Although the only golf I play is when friends and I head down to the beach and tee off into the ocean.

That's possibly the most pointless thing I've ever heard

It's all fun and games until you murder a dolphin in the head with a golf ball.

I think it looks fun - I know loads of people who play.

I bet I'd suck plums at it though

It's not supposed to have a point. It's just supposed to be fun.

you're such an old man sometimes, jeez.

Having fun is a point.
My point is, I don't see any point at all to that, including fun.
Just sounds boring and stupid to me.

How's it different from going down the driving range? Hitting the balls in the 'sweet spot' is (I hear from colleagues) very satisfying.

It's very fun to play, hard to learn, and painful to watch.

You'd have to ask Vinnie about that.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

I would enjoy golf if there weren't people waiting behind me.

This, and it's boring to watch (and to play if you suck at it). But I can see how it could be great fun with a little skill. (The fact that it's considered a sport amazes me, but then trampoline jumping is a sport as well so who am I to judge)

Driving range = fun.
Golf = not so fun.
Put Put golf also = fun.

So wait, you like the long game, you like the short game, but you don't like both of them combined?
nope.
2008-07-29, 6:30 AM #29
Putt putt golf and putting in golf are two very different things.
Now if they managed to combine the two... that could be interesting.

It is. You know when you've hit a good shot when you can hear that loud ping and almost feel nothing in the club.

I can drive 260 - 275 yds when it all comes together. I have a 9.5°. Hard as hell to hit but when you do hit it, maaaan is it sweet.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

My drive is inconsistent, but the worst parts of golf for me now are my second shot from the fairway (or even worse from the rough) on a Par 4 or 5 when I have to try to make a good shot with a 3-4 iron or fairway driver... I seem to completely mess the shot up and roll the ball 10 feet in front of me most of the time...

OR putting. I tend to 3 putt almost every time, but I was getting a bit better during my last outing. Still getting a feel for how a green breaks... mini golf is no indication of what real putting is like.

For some reason. Approach shots are very fun, and I love chipping.
