Large Irony: I think Mr. Rogers is more fundamental than "fundies." Mr. Rogers preached the fundamentals of Christianity of peace and love through God not hatred and bigotry.
But anyone who pisses off fundies is a-ok in my book. But Mr. Rogers did it with class.
