Comes out today. I'm planning on picking it up after class.

I've been looking forward to it because Richard Dean Anderson is in it a little and because it's a "one-off" story, separate from the whole Ori storyline.

Have any of you seen it already?

The blu-ray should be sitting in my mailbox when I get home from work if Netflix is telling the truth...

I saw it, and was pretty disappointed.

I was expecting more time travel and more hilarity.

I saw it too, same consensus. Needed more time travel, and more ha-ha.

I was disappointed.

Did the director forget that this is not a serous franchise? :(

Did you forget that the comedy in SG-1 was always secondary to the fact that it is a science fiction/action show?

I thought it was excellent. The time travel wasn't too deep, neither was the story overall I guess. It wasn't ridiculous like the last two seasons, though. It wasn't anything special but it did a really good job within its bounds. That's what made it so good, I think.

Yeah, that's what some people think. They are wrong.

But SG1 has surpassed the point where it can be taken seriously as a show. It's just been on too long. So they should have abused time travel like a thai hooker.

I thought it was alright. I might rank it a 7 out of 10. I thought Claudia's performance was better than usual (maybe because I can't stand her usual character). I thought the real elements were really cool, like the surfacing sub and it's crew .

I've had it downloaded for a while, went out and bought the DVD to support it. Haven't opened it yet.

And I liked it. Except for the part were Vala brings out a stupid looking plastic "weapon" ... What the hell was that?

I agree. Looked like a painted super-soaker.

I just finished watching it. I rather liked it, I thought it was an awesome idea and definitely a baal like thing to use 10 years worth of knowledge against earth and conqueror them. The whole "Give them a war and they will fight to the bitter end, but offer them gifts and they'll accept you" thing was SO true and it might have worked if not for that sneaky katesh wanting a piece of the pie, damn goa'uld greed.

It also put a close to a story with Ba'al, they needed to finish his story and that does it rather well.

Baal was my favorite Goa'uld. Sad to see him (and his dozens of clones) go.

Apophis was my favorite, and then Baal.

Baal was probably the best because the actor did a great job, better than most of the others.

I finally saw Continuum. I thought it was good. Had a lot of the old elements that made the show so good to watch. I think it was a little better than Ark of Truth, but not by too much.

In other news, Atlantis is ending in season 5, and moving towards movies like SG-1 is.

It's a reference to one of the season 10 episodes (Bounty) where that weapon is first introduced as some sort of naquada-powered plasma rifle or something. Looks like it's no longer a prototype, but I agree that it is a bit big and silly looking.

I was disappointed we didn't get to see more of Baal's plans for earth. They sounded like they would've been fun to watch. :(

I got to see this back in june at the supanova pop culture expo as a special preview, watching it in a large group (so to experiance the audience reactions), and on a large screen (a fancy projector) was just fantastic.

Also, while SGA might be ending, I remind you that there is stargate universe which should start filming soon.

Which is going to be a rehash of Star Trek Voyager.

They might as well just call it Stargate: Voyager.

SHADDAP!!

I just saw Episode 6 of Atlantis series 5. Very good. McKay is practically the main character now. And god damn i'm in love with Jewel Staite.

I just finished watching it myself (via iTunes). Great episode. I love the character-depth type episodes. I even had a tear in my eye at the end. We all knew what he was going to say, but it was still sad.

"practically" the main character? Haven't you been paying attention? He's far overshadowed John - McKay IS the main character for Stargate Atlantis. It should be called Stargate: McKay's Universe. Which wouldn't be a bad thing. David Hewlett is freaking awesome.
