Simple enough poll, do you have a safe in your house? mb just told me in the chat that most people do but I find this a little odd.

Well, do you?

Got a firesafe, but it's not a real safe, it uses some little crappy key lock and that's it. We just put our papers in there.

Lots of people have them for important documents. This reminds me that I actually need to get one...

(Like CM said, they're usually firesafes, not hardcore bank-vault type safes.)

When I used to work in retail a lady brought one of those in claiming she had locked the key inside and forgot the combination, but that the documents inside were very important.

Less than a minute in the backroom with a crowbar solved that quite nicely. :) That was probably the most fun I ever had with that job.

We only have a firesafe. It is useless for theft protection since it is about the size of a lunchbox.

We use to have a safe to store important documents such as birth certificates and deeds. Accidentally, it was dropped on the floor and broke in half. I'm not kidding.

Nothing up here in Birmingham, but back at home my parents have a metal box full of birth and death certificates and all the important jazz along those lines. Not locked and I don't know of its fireproofness, though. Can't really call it a safe, anyway.

Yup, we've got a small safe bolted to the i-beam upstairs. I've got one hidden somewhere in my room cemented to the floor, but I only really use it for my medical records and bonds. Sometimes I put important documents in there, though.

I have a gun safe and a separate small ammo safe.
I think we may have a firesafe with documents somewhere here too.
