Marky Mark sure likes being Max Payne

According to the article, he says it's his favorite role. I wonder if he will try to do Max Payne's constipated look for one of his scenes.

Quote:
“The hallucinations are a side-effect of this drug that’s been leaked onto the streets,” says Wahlberg. “A lot of the conspiracy comes from that: Max finds out that it’s a drug tested by the military to create super-soldiers, but someone has flooded the streets with it. It makes crack look like chocolate. He has to take it to keep up with the fight. But yeah, there’s a definite theme of Max fighting the devils inside. There’s a lot of action in this movie, but there’s also plenty of emotion and psychology. It goes pretty deep.”

Guess we can confirm those winged demons are hallucinations like people have originally thought.

One thing I don't like is that the movie is only PG-13. Seems like they'll be limited with what they can do in the movie with that rating.

What the hell happened to 18s? :argh:

Ugh. PG-13? I'll skip this movie, then.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic.

It looks beautiful and awesome and macabre and haunting. I'm amped.

The Dark Knight was rated 12A here so it doesn't necessarily mean they'll tone it down all that much.

Max Payne without gratuitous F-bombs? I can't see it.

Wolfy only watches mature movies for mature people like himself.

Max Payne is supposed to be a dark, gritty, and graphic story - moreso than Batman Begins/The Dark Knight. A PG-13 Max Payne is about as worthwhile as a PG-13 Alien vs. Predator.

That's funny, I thought Max Payne was about the story of one mans quest for vengeance. :v:

Violence can still be impacting without lolblood, and PG-13 is not going to turn the story into noir-lite. Did you see Edward Scissorhands? That movie was way dark and it was PG.

AVP suffered from problems far greater than its rating. Stuff like, y'know, the script.

No, that's what you see it as. I can see them pulling off PG-13 easily--just basically means no gore and no sex.

They better get the story and script down solid. Especially since people will be expecting another typical "plot challenged, poorly acted video-game-to-big-screen" movie. Grotesque violence and wild sex can't be there to distract the viewer.

I do hope they deliver a good story with a cool style. Unlike other video game movie translations, Max Payne plays out like a noir film. That was its whole appeal, apart from, I dunno, Max Payne Bullet Time thing. If they screw that up, atleast give me over-the-top violence to dull my senses if nothing else.

From what I saw in that one trailer, they seem to retain much of the bullet time and shoot dodge (Mark does the shoot dodges with no wires from that article) in the movie. Someone mentioned from the forum that the game's writer is assisting with the screenplay; I hope that's true.

if you remember from the games, the junkies would scream "THE WINGS OF FALLEN ANGELS!" im guessing those black winged things are fallen angels. probably hallucinations max sees taking dead people's souls away. maybe people he killed?

i have faith in this movie still! haha.
