GTAIV coming to PC.

Article at GameSpot

Well it took a while but there it is.

I wonder what the system requirements will be. III/VC/SA were pretty gentle in that area but then they weren't especially great-looking games compared to other titles of the time. GTAIV, on the other hand, has a lot more spiff.

The only reason I would ever get that would be the expanded multiplayer.

GTA on the pc is horrid.
nope.

They're called gamepads, you can buy them for PCs. :omg:

See, I always knew there was something wrong with your head. Now I have proof :)

Eh, was wondering when this news would pop up.

It's called a horrible port job if that's the case.

Awesome, I can't wait. GTA's are infinitely times better on pc.

GTA is more fun on PC because you can actually aim yourself, not some stupid auto lock or whatever means of targeting they have to use on the console.

what

Some games, or even just gameplay types, simply lend themselves far better to gamepads, or more specifically, analog controls. Such as driving. Previous GTA games are perfectly playable with a mouse and keyboard setup, but people tend to ***** about it because a controller just makes things way easier. **** I spent years playing racing games with the goddamn arrow keys.

So no, it's got nothing to do with porting. Shut up.

I'm very excited for this, and will very much be purchasing it. With the new engine, a lot more modding is possible, and we'll likely see some much more detailed spiderman/batman mods.

On a different note, how is the PC port of Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect? Anyone played them?

Assassin's Creed is awesome, but I'm playing it with a Dual Shock through a USB converter. Don't really feel like touching the keyboard + mouse controls, although it seems (from certain message boards for the game) that that is also an acceptable way of playing. Mass Effect plays, for the most part, in the same style that KotOR did. Only difference is the combat, which reminds me a lot of games like Time Crisis and Operation: Winback at times. There're a couple of glitches in Mass Effect, too, which really nails the KotOR feel :P

Exactly. Vice City on the PC was fantastic. Especially because there was a mod that increased the view distance to miles out. I played the game on a Radeon 9700, which tore it to shreds and had no trouble dealing with the increased draw distance. I actually felt like I was in a city such as Miami, instead of oh, London.

Hahaha!

Personally, after following Jon`C's orders, I have to agree with him that everyone should own a 360 controller for the computer. I don't know how I'd play half of the games I own without it.

I hate the 360 controller. **** that controller.

I need to get another PS2->USB converter so I can use my DS2 on the PC again.
