I'm just wondering how the cheeseheads here feel.

This can only be described as hilarious.

Brett Favre is a drama whore.

I laughed through this entire thing, and I am a Cheesehead. It was however, incredibly tough to not turn on the TV and see a "brett favre" reported on local news. I was with the Packers the whole way. Favre retired, they moved on, Favre lost his shot, that's how I see it.

For a 4th round draft pick. Hilarious.

Why can't veteran sports superstars retire with diginity?
.

I was so happy when Farve retired on his own terms with dignity.

Then he did this.

Lets just say I was a Farve fan when he was with the Packers, but I've got a bit more loyalty than he does. I'm staying a Packers fan.

I just wonder how many fans he lost over his antics...

**** the Packers. They handled this like little kids. Yes, Favre can be a bit of a baby, but all he was asking for was a release. The Packers didn't want him anymore, and he didn't want to be a Packer. Split ways, move on. They were unwilling to do this and the Packers are the ones that dragged this whole ordeal out for longer than it should have been. **** the Packers. Pats/Jets superbowl :hist101:

He didn't "retire." He's not collecting social security from the NFL. They asked him, "Do you want to play, yes or no?" He said no at the time, because he wasn't sure.

Did you see on NFL.com how they said that if the Jets trade him to the Vikings (who the Packers do not want Farve to goto at all) they must give the Packers 3 first round draft picks...

Hahah

The trade was conditional I believe. Like if the Jets make it to the superbowl and Farve gets 90% of snaps - they have to give them first round pick. If he only gets like 70% and make to playoffs, they give 2nd round pick, etc.

I'm not sure the exact numbers or stipulations - but it was something like that.

Still, I personally think Farve should've just stayed retired and that he's ruining his legacy.

I thought he was a football player...

I thought for sure he was going to retire back when he announced it and there was a thread about it. The Madden Curse might have been broken, but well....let's see what happens next.

I thought that this was both the Packers and Farve's faults. Farve's for coming out of retirement and the Packers for dragging this whole ordeal out. Oh well, the Cowboys will still dominate the NFC. Oh well, life moves on.

He does that so well.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Bush, Madden and Clinton. I think that's all that he really does. Yet he must be raking in the cash.

So....you would advise a football team, which is a business essentially, to just allow their greatest and most valuable asset to just walk away, with getting nothing in return? Doesn't make a lick of sense to this guy.

I could rant and rave for hours on this particular subject, but I was on the Packers side. Favre mishandled everything, and IMO potentially sabotaged this year for the Packers and their management. The fan base is basically in civil war over the issue, I just hope time allows people to calm down and think rationally, something that was missing from the debate this past month.
