Whoa, crazy. While some of his movies were pretty one dimensional, I always thought he did some great work in the Ocean's movies and Transformers.

My thoughts definitely go out to his family.

He was like only 50 :(.

Wasn't expecting that.

I used to love the Bernie Mac show when I was in high school.

I love how an article about his passing can't even refrain from mentioning Obama. Whatever, wasn't a big fan but sad to see someone pass away so young from something so common.

Political correctness in this case was quite unnecessary and rather fickle.

Seeing as how you've only been here like a month I'll chalk that up to inexperience.

But they didn't mention the presidency. They mentioned that he made a surprise appearance at a fellow Chicagoan, Obama, fundraiser, made some "controversial" statements in a comedy routine, and that Obama threw him under the bus. [note to self, people Obama has thrown under the bus: Grandmother, Ludacris, Rev. Wright, Bernie Mac]

Oh, damn, now I'm the one that couldn't refrain from bringing up Obama. I'm such a tool.

No, you're just a tool because you brought up media bias in the thread regarding someone's death at a relatively young age. Seriously, grow up.

I should grow up but the fact is the topic was brought up in the article about his death. As irrelevant as I find AP, the couldn't refrain from the Obama mention is his death and I think their audience is slightly larger than the one I have here.

This really caught me by surprise. My girlfriend mentioned it yesterday, I hadn't heard.

I didn't really like his style (though I thought he was good in a few movies, particularly the Oceans series), but it's a shame he was so young and the cause was relatively common.
