So, I'm out of boot camp and stuff... sort of. Officially I head for a school on tuesday. So... anything happen in the last two months I should know about?

Anyway, I'm now officially a seaman. :)

We're now at war with Iran. And Sweden.

Good luck.

Going to be a gunner's mate. Boot camp wasn't too bad. The worst part was not being able to communicate with family.

Woo, Sarn's back!

All you really missed on the ISB side was most of a story arc.

Also, I totally heard that them getting up on your grill for things like making your bed was more of the worst part of boot camp, and having to breathe toxic gas or something.

What exactly does a gunner's mate do?

And you get gassed again when you are deployed! But you'll wish you were doing push ups in the gas chamber when they spray you with pepper spray later on. That was my experience, anyway. :suicide:

Yeah. They gas you with tear gas. When I get to the fleet I'll get pepper sprayed. It's training... so they say.

Anyway a gunner's mate is in charge of repair and maintenance of weapon systems, from guided missile systems to 9 mm handguns and everything in between. I'll give you guys more specifics as I go through a school.

Don't pretend to be macho and think you can take the pepper spray.

Because you can't. You'll fall to the floor crying like even the toughest of them.

Also remember it's military grade pepper spray and will hurt more than anything civilians have. Unless you're kyle90 and you distilled capsaicin yourself. :gonk:

Did kyle ever find a use for that?

Not true, i was watching a pair of police trainees get peppersprayed in phoenix. they did not "fall to the ground crying" but proceeded to beat the crap out of a punching bag and 'arrest' a target.

The OC spray does cause a dramatic shift in emotions, though. In our case, we became incredibly pissed and wanted to rip apart the closest object.
