Because sometimes people have to go to a quiet place. And they can't just check their children in with security at the door.

Unless you're talking about a movie theater or something... then it's just evil.

Movie theaters would probably make MORE money from building a 2-hour daycare service onto their buildings for parents wanting to see movies as opposed to selling 32oz cups of ice with 6oz of soda in it for $5.

This, is why I bring food to the movies instead of buying their crap. ALSO, MOVIES SHOULD HAVE FOOD! SEE MOVIE TAVERN!

seriously! i hate it when parents bring a screaming baby into a movie theater... especially when they just sit there and say "shhhhhh...." as if the baby understands! get a babysitter for two hours or drop the scruffican off at a relatives house. i promise the kid will still be there when you get out of the movies! ...and if not i will give you a penny for you troubles.

If people would start doing a little more of this, it wouldn't be such a problem.

Funny considering someone brought their 4 kids into a restaurant I was at today. I was seriously ready to say something to them but they left as I was getting up. Between the bouncing on the seats, spilling drinks and food, shreiking, yelling, making annyoing repetitive noises, it was really awful. I don't understand what the**** is wrong with parents these days. If I did that as a kid I would have gotten the **** beat out of me.

AND is was an indian family suprisingly, theyre usually all quiet and respectful.

Generally, I find that mothers who are managing more than two children by themselves are going to be insane. Not sure why I should pay the price, though, simply because you can't keep your legs closed.

To be fair it is a reasonably accurate statement. Many immigrant nationalities seem to be better mannered in general. Except Mexicans. And Mexican adults are usually even worse than their kids. blech

I guess I can agree with that. At the time of reading it, for whatever reason, it didn't click that he was talking about immigrant families--it sounded moreso that he was just making a statement about race. IE: "White families are usually so respectful." My mistake.

And Onimusha., (why the period?) when someone makes a remark about your post being stupid, it doesn't help your case at all to follow it up with something even less intelligent. You could have easily clarified your statement and I would have agreed.

Firstly its sarcarm.

Secondly. I just get annoyed when people try to bring political correctness into an internet forum. The senate i can understand but not a video game forum. Thats all.

Since it was a misunderstanding I apologize for mocking you. :P

Actually, political correctness had nothing to do with my post--it was about what seemed to be a racist comment.
2008-08-11, 9:13 PM #25
I hate to say it, but racial stereotypes are often true... I used to work at a store, and Hispanics and Blacks were 90% of our theft, and if I had a dollar for every time an Indian tried to haggle a set price, I would have a fistful of dollars.

But I think it has less to do with race and more to do with where people come from. Minorities are far likelier than whites to be poor, and the poor are much more likelier to commit crimes. And I bet haggling is a much more standard practice an India.

Oh, well nope. Defenitely not racist. Especially not against indian people. I don't know what anyone could hold against them? Hell, they help me out, one of my docs was indian.

I remember when I was little I always wanted to go to "Kids Quest." It was a giant playground tube place right next to the movie theater, so that parents COULD check their kids at the front and then go see a movie. I only ever actually got to go there once, but I remember it was freaking awesome (for a little kid).

I really really want to see WALL E but the only thing putting me off is the prospect of being surrounded by little kids. They should make Disney movies with an 18 rating purely to allow audiences to watch it without babies and teenagers around them.

When I went to see Batman, I had some little **** behind me constantly kicking my seat. And that's a long ****ing movie.

When I went to see Wall-e, we went to a later showing in the hope that the little kids would all have gone to bed. For the most part it worked, since there weren't any infants. However, on the row behind us were a bunch of kids from the upper years of high school that I wanted to kill.

Going into that movie, no matter the time, will always contain some annoyance given its target audience.

Funny enough, I went to see Wall-e on the day it came out, sometime in the afternoon. Of all the kids there, the ONLY one that was talking loudly was the one RIGHT in front of me.

I don't know where you live, but here in Dallas, the Mexican population, except for (of course) the "degenerate" group of them (much like the "degenerate" group of white or black or brown folk), are nice, well mannered, and as friendly (and in some cases more so) than the rest of us.

Do they even allow infants into theatres? I don't think I've ever seen that.

If they do, then the policy should be general admission for adults, $500 per ticket for infants. Let's see how many there are now.
