Tuscany, particularly Florence.

If you're not impressed with Florence, you are a BAD HUMAN BEING.

Naples I'd say.

You're aware that Italy is one country and uses the Euro right? Your dollar will get whatever the exchange rate is less commision wherever you are in Italy. Go to Florence. Don't bother with Venice, it's incredibly expensive and crowded.

Even better, pop next door to Slovenia for awesome scenery, nice people, everything being much cheaper and the food's pretty good too.

Go to sardinia, walk across the southern mountains, and reach Cala Luna.
Its a real life paradise.

I hear a couple US dollars will get you about 15 million Zimbabwe dollars. It might make you feel sort of rich. Until you realize that won't even buy you a hamburger.

Since I am Italian, I will explain to the best of my knowledge.

The best places to go in Italy are not even mainland Italy.

Sicily and Sardinia are literally like heaven on Earth.

The best places on the mainland are Rome and Venice.

Free - I believe they re-valued the currency so as to stop all the crazyness.

So you can just up and say "Oh—our currency is worth X now."

???

So why do we bother with economics again?

They essentially replaced the currency with a new one.

Just like Germany ~1920.
nope.

Oh cool...

I think I'll just "replace" my bank account with a new one too. :ninja:

For a really all classical kind of city, go to Florence.

For a bigger city, still a lot of history, but defintly more modern (not to mention St. Peter's Basicilla is breathtaking) go to Rome

If you want some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, go to the island of Capri, and then take the boat from there to Sorento.
