Hi,

I have two computers that no longer serve any useful purpose to me, but could possibly serve someone else. I would like to give them away here to members of the Massassi community that could put them to good use. These computers are completely free, I will even pay for shipping. I do have a few restrictions:

1) You must have an 'established' Massassi forum account. If you signed up immediately after seeing this post or have a very low post count, I probably wont choose you.

2) You must live within the Continental United States. (Shipping outside of US will cost me too much, Sorry.)

I am only giving away the actual computer tower (The case, and internal components). You will need your own Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, and Speakers. These computers contain used/spare components, so no guarantees or warranties.

OS: Windows XP Home (NO install/restore media included)
MISC:
Built in memory card reader
Powercord included

Just respond with something like: “I am interested in Computer #1.” or “I am interested in either computer.” No, You cant have both. I will choose the lucky people and send a private message requesting your mailing address. I will private message a tracking number once the computer is sent. I'll try to be fair and pick the first responders, but I reserve the right to pick whoever.

Hrm my computers been acting up so Im just going to put my name down for computer 2. Just a quick question though, whats the maximum amount of memory allotted by that motherboard?

I think it supports 2gb max. Only 2 184 pin slots. Both Currently filled with 512mb dimms.

I'm interested in either. A good friend of mine could really use a computer upgrade.. he has trouble running firefox and MSN at the same time. :p

Indeed. I would be interested, but I'm in "a" school in the navy and don't have room for either and after "a" school I'll probably be on a ship on my way to hong kong or sweeden or something. And there's no room on ship for such things.

I will take either. I'm putting together a game, and I need server machines. Either would help me greatly! Any one of them would be a 100% increase in my current serving capabilities.

My motherboard in my desktop PC (which is a few years old, about the same equipment as in those two computers, though #1 would be the most useful to me, I think) seems to have gotten ruined in storage when my family moved while I was away at college. I brought it here trying to fix it, and everything seems fine except for the motherboard (and the graphics card is acting up, too, but it's hard to tell which is the problem). I'd love to have either of those two so I can use my nice speakers and monitor again. As it is I use my old laptop. It's pretty cool of you to do this.

I've been trying to find some boxes to run the media center/render farm. I'd take either one.

But I'm only really interested if it's random. It'd be kind of awkward being "selected."

Ok, the lucky recipients have been selected and the computers are now in the mail. I won't disclose their names, but its probably not to hard to guess who got what.

An interesting side note: Since I forgot to ask explicitly for a name, one of them might have to sign the last name "Massassi".

And to be fair, the two recipients will be disqualified from anything I give away in the future.
