What is the deal

I keep going and changing the "Save Files To..." to my Downloads folder and it works for a few days, then just reverts back to saving stuff to the desktop

It's really annoying please fix it Massassi

It does that when it is unable to write to the folder you selected.

I know cause I share my profile between Windows and Linux, obviously writing to F:\ doesn't work on Linux, and the file ends up on my desktop instead.

Not sure how this relates to your problem, though.

Try a fresh profile and import your bookmarks and extensions.
