when the director of a movie speaks out about how his movie sucks?

I really doubt I'm going to see Babylon AD

Does anyone else think this guy's just being whiny? The producers have a job to do, which is to see a return on their investment. They don't care about the director's artistic vision. If he was truly a good director, he'd have made it work, in spite of the producers. Not to mention he shouldn't have allowed vin diesel to play the lead role, if he wanted the movie to be taken seriously.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I don't think the director knew what he was doing. I saw the Parkour scene and they used a combination of shakey-cam and the "cut to a new angle every quarter second" which pretty much ruins it.

Uh not really. the studio can edit the film how they wish. Terry Gilliams Brazil for example was edited for the US release because the studio felt the original ending was 'Too Dark.'
