well, i dont really know if hes bad or not, but its been nearly two weeks since i bought something that said 1-7 business days, and so far, nothing has arrived. i've emailed the guy once through ebay and once and once through regular email, and have received no reply. i'm tempted to give negative feedback. but this is my first negative experience with ebay.

in case you were wondering i bought a joystick to replace my old one which just randomly stopped working when i decided i wanted to play XWA again.

grrr.

to make this a legal thread, post your bad ebay/online shopping experiences.
My girlfriend paid a lot of money for that tv; I want to watch ALL OF IT. - JM

Every time I sell something someone sends me a message like 'how much do you want ill buy it'. Their scam is tricking people into making a deal with them and taking it off ebay; and then they never pay, and you've got no recourse.

I've never had a bad experience with ebay.
nope.

I don't know if this really counts as a bad experience, because although I ended up paying 20 times more than what I bought it for on ebay. It was much less than I expected.
I was looking for cheap screens for my beamer and I came across this awesome auction of a screen that was exactly the right size and with a buy-now option for 1€. Well, I bought it and of course the seller told me that he had made a mistake and didn't want to offer it with the buy-now option.
I offered him 20€, thus getting a still awesomely cheap screen.
Sorry for the lousy German

I've had mixed results. I've had 3 bad auctions, one a guy sent me a different gfx card than was advertised, another never sent the product and I had to force the issue through paypal, and an undertail I ordered for my bike didn't even have a chance to fit (they gave me a refund w/out having to be forced, but it took a month).

Most of my more recent experiences have been fine. I got a factory service manual for my bike for 20 bucks (I offered to "buy it now" for 40 so I didn't have to go through the bidding, but the lady said no she wanted it to go through the auction... hahaha), I got a transponder key and fob for my SUV for dirt cheap, hum, a different brand undertail for my bike worked okay.

I had one bad seller. Bought a DVD from a vendor (eforcity) and never got my item, and never got a response from multiple e-mails.

I personally avoid eBay like the plague, especially after the experiences my sister had. That poor girl is so damn gullible, she seriously thought it was a good idea to buy a 1960's car (forgot the model) off of eBay as a surprise gift for her husband. It turns out that the car was a total lemon. Oh wow... who saw that one coming? /sarcasm

I find the eBay is better for buyers than sellers. Even when you set restrictions your auction can be sniped by some douchebag who doesn't pay.

Buying a dude a lemon can be a good thing. Maybe he likes working on cars.

Yes, my sister's husband is a mechanic. However, it definitely wasn't my sister's intent when she bought the car and the seller never made it clear that the car had problems.

ford... this joystick... where are you and where is it coming from?

me personally

ripped off on a copy of GTA:VC way back when... seller ripped off alot of people selling video games and systems he didn't have... he was arrested over the whole thing

another seller kept telling me he sent some xbox games i bought then stopped replying to emails after claiming to send them fedex and me requesting a tracking number

most recently not so much a bad experience but an annoying inconvenience was a seller who kept telling me the movie i had bought was on back order (it was due to arrive on [datehere], truck caught fire, due to arrive on [date here]...) after a couple weeks i decided to just get a refund
