safari on windows doesn't offer that feature, I think there are shareware plugins or something for the macos version, wtf?

new tabs. I wind up middle clicking a lot of links anyway, just to load them in the background.

I much prefer tabs to anything else. In fact, I rather hate separate windows.

I'm not sure which one of these you're referring to...

I don't like pages which use target="_blank" to force links to open in new windows. I will make that decision myself, thanks. The only exception is in web apps (IE meebo) where you would always want a link to open in a new window and not disrupt the current window. With normal webpages though I never like it.

I prefer all my browsing to stay limited to one window with multiple tabs. I use Tab Mix Plus in Firefox in "Single Window Mode" which forces all popups into a new tab.

I guess I coulda worded it better: I don't mean middle/ctrl clicking links on purpose, I mean clicking links normally and have the _blank ones redirect to a new tab in the current window, e.g. your inbox link on iGoogle, compare firefox and safari windows
