Thoughts? I thought it actually looked pretty cool...much better than I thought it would be.

Hopefully they don't downs up the match making like they have on every other wii game.

Wait I was under the impression that the Duel mode was same-console multiplayer, not online.

Producer = :neckbeard:

I like it better when the Apprentice actually holds the lightsaber in front of him. Looks less retarded.

I would like to say the graphics look alittle bland. But I know the Wii isn't a powerhouse. Still, the sparkly blue things flying around him look awful and distracting.

If he can just pick up and crush the AT-ST, why go through the bother of fighting it? Just start out blowing the crap out of it!

The force powers in JO/JA actually look pretty slick. They're subtle and professional looking. IMO. :tinfoil:

I'm not sure if Rob was being facetious or what... because JK's particles were actually sub-par for the time.

I wonder why the Apprentice does not hold the lightsaber behind his back like in SCIV and the 360/PS3 version of Force Unleashed. Anyhow, I don't think the game will be any better than the 360/PS3 version (which are kind of getting disappointing review scores in the 7s). A multiplayer duel mode using the Force Unleashed's gameplay won't really work.

This.

Also... this looks worlds better than the 360 version.

I came home in a s****y mood the other night after work, fired up the TFU demo on my 360 and felt muuuuch better in about 5 minutes after reaming a bunch of digital ragdolls.

That's worth the £40.

I still don't understand why they didn't include multiplayer on the 360 version (as well as the PS3). These consoles have a much larger multiplayer community that would sell really well for the game. Lucasarts really let me down again, first with no PC version, and then not giving multiplayer to all of the consoles.. /sigh

I would think a weird King-of-the-Hill kind of online gameplay would actually be cool. Like one person is the Jedi while everyone else plays a stormtrooper.

But that might require LucasArts to be creative.

Simple. They wanted to make up for the lack of amazing graphics, Euphoria and DMM by adding a duel mode and extra missions. Extra missions are available for the PS2 version as well, and it also has new Ragdoll physics. The DS version I don't know much about besides the fact that it too has multiplayer. As for the PSP version, it has a huge selection of custom maps for it's lack of pretty much everything.

They tried to balance everything for every system so that no matter which one you buy, you get something the others didn't. (I guess it's like Soul Calibur)

I think the sad part is, during my entire time playing the Demo, there was less destruction of the environment then there is in the Wii video :(

Yeah that's great and all. However the comparison to Soul Calibur hardly works. Taking away multiplayer for the most popular multiplayer consoles and adding it to handhelds and the Wii really doesn't make much sense. Adding extra features to different consoles is fine, but completely abandoning multiplayer on the top consoles and adding it as a "bonus" feature to the lesser played consoles is a joke.

And don't even try to argue that the Wii, PSP, and DS are popular online gaming devices. Yes, people play things online on these consoles, but I guarantee you that it's only a fraction of the population of the 360 and PS3 gamers.

If you consider JK to be the height of LA mp (it had pretty ****ty mp) considering every game after it has been worse for the most part, I really don't want another ****ty MP game.

I'd rather have a half-decent single player game.
2008-09-10, 4:42 PM #25
Pretty much what Rob said. The MP doesn't look promising on the Wii version. The gameplay isn't very well suited for a deep multiplayer match. It will be tacked on pretty much like in Enter the Matrix, Star Wars Episode III, Tenchu 3, etc.
2008-09-10, 5:33 PM #26
It's mostly an SP game, so it sounds more like they tacked it into the others.

Wii doesn't have online multiplayer. It's old school (the way consoles were meant to be played. PC is for online - Console is for bringing your friends over, playing split screen and having a blast. That's why N64 still wins in my books.)

Besides, DMM and Euphoria (along with much better graphics) AND multiplayer would make it a no-brainer to get the other versions. Why would you want the Wii version if the 360 and PS3 have multiplayer too? They wouldn't sell anything other then xbox and ps3 versions of the game. Do people really care about extra missions? Not really. Besides they'd probably pester LA to get those maps on 360 and ps3 using some stupid excuses.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Though I do agree - I'll be getting the PS3 version, and it would be nice to have Multiplayer so I can play with some friends. But I'll probably be too busy in SP blowing up Stormies to care.

You're wrong, you should stop posting now because you're basically as wrong as a person can be.

You're so wrong, I dare say, you'll never be right. Ever.

Seriously though. Retarded OLD SKOOLLLLL gaming logic is about as retarded as that I DUNT WUNT NINTENDU BECAUSE I AM A MATURE GAMERRRRR kind of crap

To each his own. That's why these consoles games and PC games have such a diverse market.

This is probably the most stupid way to defend a person's opinion.
2008-09-10, 8:03 PM #30
No it's not. There's no other way to articulate that point except "Stop trying to get him to change his mind because he's convinced of his opinion and you are of yours". You don't use it to defend someone's opinion in that it's right, you use it to say 'let him believe what he wants to believe'.

Yeah Rob it's just an opinion. I find the lack of MP not the least bit disturbing. It makes perfect sense to me and that's how it is.

Leave it at that.

PS: The comment of consoles was just a joke. Laugh a little.
