I've just read a thread but don't remember which one; anyhow, someone mentioned about how a bunch of recent games have completely let us down when they were supposed to be the epitome and advancement of video games:

Spore (forgot I owned it)
Force Unleashed (some good some bad)
GTA IV (Why did this one have to let us down? Same thing as the other games with less to actually do)

On the last subject, GTA 4, someone mentioned how Saints Row 2 is coming out soon and there seems to be a large fanbase on the internet for this game. I played the original (very shortly) and was unimpressed, its a gta rip-off. For some reason, it's getting a lot of hype. Can someone tell me why I should look forward to this game?

What other games are there to look forward to? As far as I know, the only thing I'm looking forward to is Far Cry 2 but my computer probably won't even be able to handle it...

I haven't gamed in a while (I played a days worth of Spore in the last year)
Buuuut..... Diablo III and SC II are totally going to get me to waste a couple more days.

SC2 and Diablo 3 haven't even announced release dates yet, so I can't really look forward to them.

I thought Saints Row did the sandbox style gameplay better than GTA.. That's only why I mentioned it before

Yea..lol.. I've been waiting for both ever since D2 and SC lol.
I though SC2 was a bunch of bull but that's kinda neat to see it revamped. I was hoping for a new race, but oh well. D3 should be bad *** though. I played D2 waaay too much. (And made a lot of $$ (Freaks on ebay buying stuff from my wasting life on it lol) off it..Hopefully I will be able to do the same for this one)

You are the first person I have ever seen say that about SC2.

I was disappointed by a LOT of games this year too.

I have yet to buy Force Unleashed, and I don't intend to.. Which is sad since it'll actually be the first Star Wars game I've never purchased for a system I own.

I played Spore for maybe 2 levels and deleted it.

GTA IV is about half-way completed and I couldn't be bothered to finish the rest.

So far this year has been a big let down for some of the big-name game's.

You know, while we're on the topic of sequels, they REALLY need to make another addition to the Descent series, like badly.

KOTOR 3 needs to be released. Now.
