Suggest A Gaming Mouse
2008-09-22, 11:11 PM #1
I need to find a new gaming mouse with two criteria:

1: Must be either left-handed [very unlikely] or ambidextrous.
2: Must be corded. My apartment complex has so much wifi noise that my wireless mice are almost unusable.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I highly doubt that wifi noise is a problem for high frequency RF mice... but Bluetooth might not work. Bluetooth mice are worthless for gaming, anyway.

Mickey Mouse has been in some video games, but I don't know if he's left handed...

Emon, trust me. I've read dozens of articles online abuot people having the exact same problem.

When I ran torrents over wifi [on a different machine so it wasn't performance hits], my mouse would become almost unusable. When I stopped them, it worked, every time, like science.

Suggestions were to change the channel the router went off from 1 to 6 or higher [2.4Ghz is both right around wifi channel 1 and what many wireless mice run at]. Which I can do for mine, but not for the apartments right next to me.

Not that I've been able to find at least. Hence the alternative of it being ambidextrous. right-handed mice cramp me like death if I try to use them wrong.

I believe you, that's just weird.

You could try hand exercises (huh huh huh) to see if you can reduce the cramps.

All of their mice are symmetrical to a point where as a right handed user who's used to the MX Revolution, it's almost hard to use.

There ya go Dor, just look until you find one you like. They're all ambidextrous optical wired mice.

Get one and never look back. Don't be fooled by their G-series mice, the mx1000 is much MUCH nicer and out preforms them in every aspect. The last G-series mouse I used was godawful and skipped across the screen more often then not.

Did you even read the thread?

He needs a lefty mouse and he doesn't want wireless. Fail less, PLEASE.

Thank you for the suggestions. I had poked about on newegg, but hadn't discovered the handedness search filter!

Absolutely no idea, sorry! I suppose you could go down to your local hardware store and see what they have? I'm sure there are mice that fit your criteria somewhere..

Razers are ambidextrous.

I was actually in a similar predicament. I have traditionally used the mouse with my left hand (though I am actually right handed). Though there are some pretty decent symmetrical mice, they just do not compare to using a mouse made for your hand. Regardless, I had pretty good luck with Logitech mice; I have used and like the MX310, G3, and the MX Revolution (though that one obviously does not fit the criteria). I never cared for the feel of Microsoft's symmetric mice and I have never used a Razer, so I cannot vouch for anything there.
