Pet Roomba Ruminations

Today I ran into this terribly tempting listing where I can for instance get a Roomba 535 for 212$.

http://robotstocknews.blogspot.com/2006/03/roomba-buyers-guide.html

I've been wavering on getting a pet ever since I moved into my new place, but I wonder if anyone here has close experience with them.

My bathroom and kitchen are both tile, but everywhere else is carpet. How well would it handle those do you know?

Thanks for any insights.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

I've seen them modded into cylons.

Be careful.

roombas are nice. they work on many surfaces, including tile and carpet. i'd recommend waiting for one to come up on woot though.

I fully agree.

Took the words right out of my mouth, because you KNOW they will.

On a side note, I doubt those things do squat against large breed dogs shed/fur ratio, thus rendering them useless for me.
