Okay so maybe not DEAD, but it's certainly not the same.

Muxtape, for those of you who dont know, was a site where you could upload up to 12 MP3s. These mp3s were then added to a simple flash player. You could only play / pause the songs. There was no way you could download them.

So of course since it hosted music, the RIAA came through and shot it down.

I'm sure there were people abusing it, but it was a great way to share new artists to other people without you know... sending them the file illegallyyyy

well, while it does not sound like muxtape will be the same site anymore i think its amazing that he walked away from a licensing deal and while it may have fundamentally changed the site, i think it adds a lot of credibility to what he says he wants the site to be. till it becomes the next myspace and it sells for millions

You could just go to myflashfetish and use one of their players in conjunction with a file hosting website like fileden. Same thing basically.

and before anyone posts that the whole post flew over my head, and how I missed the point that the RIAA are a bunch of money grubbing megalomaniacs, I know, I get it, I'm just offering a simple alternative.
