Whats a good program (preferably freeware) to convert .avi files to DVD (.vob) format?

Do a quick search for AVI2DVD. It works really well...if you can get the encoder settings right. I had it set up perfectly, then for some reason I had to re-install. I forgot how to use it properly, and didn't have enough patience left to tinker with it anymore. That, and I had a Prescott CPU that would get hot enough to fry an egg on when I went to convert something. So AVI2DVD is great if you have enough technical know-how (or an informative message board) to use it properly.

DVDLab Pro 2 is what I use. It's a DVD authoring tool. Let's you make menu's and scene selections, etc. Really nifty, comes with the tools to convert AVIs too.
