Especially the part about Bawls. First time I ever had it was at a PC gaming joint.

I think they should have mentioned Emulators somewhere in there. At least for me and a few friends, it's helped me rediscover games I played when i was kid, and even some gems that I've missed.

But they never shaped the industry...

It's a decent list, but it isn't exactly short.

DDR beat Final Fantasy?

Wouldn't have guessed that, but eSports?

Otherwise, it looks pretty accurate.

I've never heard of bawls...
I also question the depth of influence they've attributed to goldeneye, especially given the rest of the influences in that list.
Apart from that, it's a decent list.

Goldeneye was hugely influential. Go play it again and compare it to a modern fps. And Goldeneye is 11, eleven years old.

It wasn't all that different from other fps' at the time...
That's why I question the influence, goldeneye gets all this credit but most of what it had was already around.
And I'd rather not play it again, didn't like it that much in the first place (that's the controllers fault though, not the game)

I don't remember any other FPS on console being anything near to goldeneye. It was very influential.

Goldeneye is the predecessor of all the realistic shooters. Games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Counter-strike, etc are based on the concepts Goldeneye introduced.

Yeah, other FPS games for consoles. PC shooters had most of the same elements (other than realism or stealth) for some time before Goldeneye.

I would rank Quake as being significantly more influential than Goldeneye.

Goldeneye invented the console FPS genre. Goldeneye controls are used in all of them now. Just because you hate console FPSs doesn't mean Goldeneye wasn't influential.

I like how you think those games are realistic.
DO NOT WANT.
