It's not really a spoiler.

If it's anything like the 2003 cartoon, it should be great.

It's not. This is by completely different people.

I didn't see it. Was this their big Star Wars night? Did I miss Thumb Wars? That would make me very sad.

Yeah, I enjoyed both episodes for what they were.

However, I am sure most of Massassi would hate it - judging by the response to the movie

Surely that won't stop you from watching it, though.

I liked the first 2 episodes. I'll definitely be keeping up with this series.

I've told this to many people.

If you go into it with a Saturday Morning Cartoon attitude, you will have a riot.

It was a bad idea for a movie. No one really stated it would suck for a TV show.

I enjoyed both episodes, and thought they were both better than the movie.

Not sure why petmc20 thought that about Plo Koon....

I liked how the clones think of themselves as expendable and not unique, and how both Jedi responded to them. And when the droids cut open the hull of the pod and clones got sucked into space.

Pretty cool.

Could you survive the pressure of space for a short while? I didn't think so. Plo Koon fought droids while FLOATING IN SPACE. I repeat. FLOATING IN SPACE. No suit, just one badass Kel Dor. Still not sure why? Eh? Thank you, goodnight.

Yes. Humans can survive 1:30 to 2:00 minutes in space. I imagine if I were a Jedi, it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

It's not like he fought them, he stood there, deflecting the odd blaster bolt and flinging a trooper behind their position.

Arrrrrrrgle bargle....

Cartoon Network isn't on my cable. And the websites where you can watch streams of the series are only for viewers in the United States. :gonk:

So I have the choice between taking digital TV and watching crappy Dutch-dubbed versions or waiting for the DVD of the first season sometime next year. :suicide:

They used to subtitle cartoons and animations so children could learn foreign languages more easily. Whatever happened to that...

They have it on iTunes, and if you want to be a week behind, I think they're going to post them on Cartoon Network's website.

I guess I wasn't that impressed with Plo in this episode. There was a lot of hype about him coming up to the debut, and I guess I was expecting more Yoda-ish type action from Plo.

Emon is correct, you can survive up to about 90 seconds (less than 60 would be ideal though if you don't want any long-term problems). After about 10 seconds you can't do much to help yourself though, and if you don't hold your breath your lungs won't explode.

I have to admit, the show wasn't too bad. The first episode was the better one, but I do think Yoda's "lines of wisdom" feel a bit force. I like how there's some characterization for the clone troopers. A band of brother clonetrooper style show would be awesome I think. In regards to the second episode, I still don't like the idea of Anakin having an apprentice. Somehow the Anakin I still in this animation series so far doesn't remind me of movie Anakin.
2008-10-06, 6:43 PM #27
Show's alright, but I don't really like the animation style (The cartoon Clone Wars was so awesome), and I think Anakin's padawan is going to get obnoxious.

Yeah, but it's only for viewers in the US.

And whether they have it on iTunes depends on the country you live in.

I agree.

Why does she exist? Comic relief? Someone for the kids to relate to?

Maybe she allowed Anakin to find killing children no big concern in Episode III.

Actually didn't one of the creators say you won't see her dying at the end of the series?

I think he said she just disappears like Yoda did going to Dagobah. I can't remember if that's 100% accurate though

Alright, I saw tonight's episode. I'm not going to flat out hate the series, but it isn't winning me over at all. If I have to compare it to the first animated series, I think the cartoon version is still significantly better. Maybe this series need to get going, although it seems the next episode is worth watching (hopefully).

-first, I hope the droids would honestly shut up. Maybe the kids think they are funny, but I went from tolerating them from the first 2 episodes to flat-out hating them. I know Episode III's "humor" mostly came from tidbits from the droids, but I think this is going way, way too far. Stop with the droids, god****. Are they suppose to be individuals and free-thinkers or something? I liked them better as cannon fodder.

-secondly, the CIS and the droid army are portrayed as a bunch of incredibly incompetent morons ... to the point which makes the whole element of danger of facing them rather ... shallow. I mean, it seems they, the droids especially, are so bad at what they are doing, it sometimes hard to view them as nothing more than comedy relief. The original Star Wars movies shined when it focused on a conflict against a cruel and oppressive force ... but the CIS appear so fragile and moronic ... kinda kills off the tension and mood.

-third, the writing is really getting annoying. Are these the same writers from the animated series? Or are they selected from George Lucas himself? I know this is a series made for cable television but would it hurt to not use a sarcastic comment after every 3 lines?

Meh.

They did get beaten by GUNGANS in TPM. I always figured that Palpatine made sure they were idiots so he would be sure his clones would beat them after he set the war up.
2008-10-17, 7:03 PM #35
It would be awesome, I think, if they used the portrayal of the droids from Republic Commando. Truly out to kill. In the animated series, you could easily take the CIS seriously. I haven't watched the Clone War's series extended pilot episode (the movie...) but I guess it's alright for General Grivous to fly a giant ship filled with retards.

The cartoons are nothing but a flat out parody of the what an idiotic concept the droids were in the first place. Any Si-Fi were a computerized entity's primary function involves using mechanical interface to communicate information to another computerized entity, cannot be taken seriously. Mechanical buses are moronic, no matter what you're doing, unless it's comedy. I absolutely loved Wall-E's dig at this.

I'm such a huge nerd I can't enjoy anything that isn't totally scientifically accurate to the point of ultra realism. Like these characters are nevers seen relieving themselves, I mean come on! Even Jedi ****, I know they do. They probably have a force power that wipes for them.

IT'S SO ****ING UNREALISTIC!

I've been waiting years for someone to say that. And do the Jedi use toilet paper? Or holo-paper?
