saving hidden tracks

[LEFT]So I was listening to the Flecktones album "Little Worlds" the other day when I remembered about all of the hidden tracks. I was going to save the CDs to my HD, but I don't know how to save the first hidden track.

Basically, on a standard CD player, if I go to song #1 and then REWIND or REVERSE to about -2:00, there's a really funny bit with Bernie Williams and David St. Hubbins from Spinal Tap. It's not listed anywhere, and I can't get to it with Winamp.

Any idea how I can save it?

Try opening with something like Goldwave?

EAC can probably do it.

I use Fission on a mac for splitting out tracks.

EAC didn't recognize the track at -2:00 either.

I've been doing lots of tests with EAC and some other software, and I'm pretty sure my hardware simply can't do it.

I'd poke around in the P2P world, but the track is hidden and nameless and therefore kinda difficult to search for.

Rhapsody has it for free. You'll have to record it to your PC yourself then.

eac method

action->detect gaps

action->append gaps to previous track (normally you want append gaps to next track but for tracks hidden before track one you want this)

rip track one (if you want the hidden track separate rip to wav then edit the file before encoding)

There's also one at the end of the CD too, it looks like, according to Zune.

DrkJedi82, the detect gaps option wasn't available on the version of EAC I dl'ed. I used the Copy Image and Cue Sheet or something, but where the hidden track was, all I got was silence. That's why I think my hardware can't figure this type of hidden track out. There is one at the end of the CD (it ripped fine), and there's a couple more on the other CDs (it's a 3-disk set). One of them is where they took an already fast unison riff and played it insanely fast until they crash and burn at the end, laughing. I'll check out Rhapsody when I get home. The proxy my students showed me (which is letting me here right now!!) is giving an error when I go there. However, I'm not getting my hopes up. I have noticed, that iTunes and Amazon both list the hidden track before Track 1, but the sample they have is not really the hidden track. They have Track 1 as the hidden track, and then Track 2 is listed as Track 1, and so on. It's all wrong. I suspect Rhapsody is in the same boat, but I won't know until I check later.
