Berg v. Obama (2008)

I have no idea how to embed videos on forum posts.
So the link is here.

Basically, this former democrat lawyer filed a lawsuit against Obama claiming that he is not a natural born citizen and is thus not eligible for president. The claims are that Obama was either born in Kenya or renounced his US citizenship when acknowledged by his stepfather in order to gain Indonesian citizenship.

While I am a McCain supporter, I am undecided about this and frankly have better reasons why I think Obama should not be president. However, this lawsuit interests me due to how ridiculous it would be if Berg won the case.

I cannot imagine what would happen if Obama loses the case at this point in the race, or worse, if it is resolved after Obama won the election and lost the case. It would be a madhouse.

Um, Obama was born in Hawaii. He already released his birth certificate.

And McCain was born in Panama, I believe.

Edit: I guess they're saying it's fake - http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/jun/27/obamas-birth-certificate-part-ii/

I read this as Borg v. Obama

I don't even like Star Trek

I think Panama was a US territory when McCain was born, though. I could be wrong and I'm too lazy to wiki it.

And it was still owned by the US at that point anyway.

This is going to be dismissed because Berg doesn't have standing to bring the suit, following the precedent of Hollander v. McCain. They'll never even get to the questions of fact regarding Obama's citizenship, but Berg's case is pretty weak on those as well -- the best he's got is "forensic analysis" of the digital scan of Obama's CLB from some guy who won't identify himself.

For those who have just heard about this and aren't sure what to think, a word of caution: Berg's last high-profile lawsuit claimed that Bush and Cheney were responsible for the September 11th attacks.

More conspiracy theory crap. "Illuminati pictures" what a joke. He needs to go put his tinfoil hat on and hide in a bunker with Alex Jones.

Didn't he change his name from Barry to Barak when he was in college?

He may have started going by Barack instead of Barry in college, but Barry was a nickname, not his legal name.
