I wanted NDP to win :(
2008-10-14, 7:46 PM #6
Yeah same here. NDP would have been awesome. They really deserve a chance.

Did they really win? Dang, I didn't get a chance to vote..
2008-10-14, 7:55 PM #7
Yeah I know they got a bad rep from Bob Rae and all that but out of all the candidates, Jack Layton was the one I trusted most. Plus he was the only one that had a plan for people my income level, etc. I liked his policies, I think he'd make a great PM.

Either way, it's a minority government, so they barely won. Only 127 out of the required 155 seats for a majority government. If the other parties can man up and work together they can still carry a heavy influence and stop Harper from making some bad choices. So it's not a total loss.

What a waste of time and money this election was. I still voted though.

So... Stephen Harper was the president yesterday and he's the president tomorrow... and milk still comes in bags.

Silly Canada.

Bagged milk is the ultimate win.
2008-10-14, 11:59 PM #12
I have milk JUGS. Yeah. That's right. No Cardboard junk (no cardboard in my milk) and not in a bag (no ... bag in my milk). It's in a sexy huge JUG.

I can't stand cardboard box milk. Who's stupid idea was that? :P

And yes. Bagged milk is the ultimate win.

Stephen Harper has done amazing things for the economy, the military and national solidarity. If you're afraid of him you probably spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about abortion.

As for preventing Harper from making bad decisions... the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results each time. The Canadian parties rarely cooperate, and when they do it's not to prevent a bad decision - it's to prevent any decision, so they can turn around and blame the prime minister for government inaction. Reasonable government isn't the business we're in anymore, and it hasn't been since Chretien reneged on his campaign promise to reduce GST.

We had it on there four times thank you very much. And it was needed just in case someone didn't see a picture of the guy the first time.

Bottled milk?

Sure, maybe 30 years ago.

Most of my milk comes in cartons, with the occasional jug.

There should be some kind of internet law (like Godwin's) that states if bagged milk is mentioned in a thread comments expressing confusion will immediately follow.

Yes, we buy milk in bags. It also comes in plastic jugs and cardboard cartons. The 4L bags that Temperamental posted a picture of contain three smaller clear bags. These are placed in a specially designed pitcher and the corner of the bag is cut off to allow for pouring. Sometimes both corners are cut so that air can flow into the bag and it doesn't crumple as you pour. I think the main reason for using milk bags is they cost less and are less wasteful than the plastic jugs. They're also great at baffling Americans.

Lol Kieran Horn... (nice pic :P)

We've had a military since WWI, we were the front lines for most of both WW. We were actually kind of feared because of it (history class. Whether or not this is true is beyond me)...

But we haven't upgraded any of our weapons, tanks, submarines, or any of that since xD

1 of our subs is in the Edmonton Mall.... I think we had like 2.
2008-10-16, 5:39 AM #35
Hey now, I'm pretty sure we have 4 subs:P (3 of which are not sea-worthy). I am delighted that Harper continues to be our PM. He has been giving the military some SORELY needed attention. Our forces have been decaying for decades.
