The ability on some graphics cards to make windows transparent is the best thing to happen to MSpaint for a long time. That, and the inclusion of simple Bezier curves in the program. It's how I did, for example, this:

Otherwise, you can do in MSpaint anything you can do in any other graphics program, it just takes more time and patience.

And the willingness to redraw things 3-4 times if you screw it up since there is NO way to correct a mistake beyond the ~5 undos you are given. So I guess in a way it's more like actual painting in that regard :downs:

Anyone tried Paint .NET? I've been curious about how it is for a free program.

When I was like 8 I made the coolest MSpaint thing ever. I was never able to reproduce anything like it again. But it was so bad ***. It was an alien playing a pinball machine. Someone in my family deleted it and I got so mad.

I have it on my laptop but since I've not really tried any other free alternatives I can't really comment.
