I've just finished the Gears of War novel, Aspho Fields, supposably the first in a trilogy.
In the Epilogue; Myrrah, the Locust Queen, says this.
We could have cooperated with the groundwalkers for our mutual salvation, but they are humans, and they only understand dominance and ownership. All the we have left is a war to the death. For all their so-called intelligence, humans are blind to the thread right before their eyes. We never stood a chance of enlisting their aid, so now we fight alone, and we will stand on their corpses to do so.
WTF.
Also, does anyone else see this as the sci-fi tripe it is? Akin to teaming up with the elites to defeat the brutes, or with the Empire to take down the Vong?
And am I the only rabid gears fan on this board?
