I was always hoping for his next "great" book.

Wow, I am very sorry to see him go. I completely devoured his books. Eaters of the Dead was brilliant, so was Jurassic Park!

know what I liked about Michael Crichton? how people thought his works were more than fiction. like they had an actual basis in history or science. i think it's cute.

i also liked how someone criticized the pseudoscience in State of Fear and then Michael Crichton called that person a child molester with a small penis in Next. i thought that was also cute.

Oh God. I was listening to Next as a book-on-tape while making a long road trip, and shortly after I got to my grandmother's, I took my then 15 year old cousin to the grocery store. And I still had the CD in. And that part played. :psyduck:
