Detty doesn't like edits for IE? Oh well.

Not that I'm wholly surprised, of course.

I've got a good edit for IE--google toolbar. It's almost as good as firefox. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

IE SP2 (Built in pop-up blocker and add-on manager) + Nutshell toolbar (like Google toolbar, doesn't have a blocker but has more useful search features) = Quite nice.

2. A judgment based on special knowledge and given by an expert: a medical opinion.
3. A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing: has a low opinion of braggarts.

Also, that is a spiffy little edit. I dug up IE just to try it out.

Funniest thing about SP2, if you use Firefox and AdAware/Spybot, it's not even neccesary.

It has been decided by the powers that be, that attempts to promote other browsers in an IE thread which doesn't specifically ask for alternatives will result in EDITATION

Because you completely ignore the fact that IE is improving. Obviously if you already have something that didn't have the old flaws then a fix for those flaws isn't going to make any difference to you. But for those who prefer IE, like myself, these new additions are quite important.

I was merely expressing my opinion that I prefer Firefox to Internet Explorer and hence consider that an improvement. It's not like what I said was non-constructive, it was merely my opinion that I prefer Firefox, and perhaps some of the readership would have valued that opinion rather than seen it as a bash at IE, which was not the intention... You know, I'm not bashing IE, though I do have every reason in the world, I wasn't doing it at all. I'm just saying, if you use firefox, and adaware/spybot, the update isn't neccessary. In all seriousness, think about it.

But of course, like other fanboys, you tend not to see past what you want [edit]to see.

I'm saying that there are those who genuinely prefer the feel of IE, who may have opted to choose to use Firefox/Opera due to security or popup issues in which case this update is necessary because it allows people to use the software they prefer to use. Think about it.

[Insert petty fanboy remark here]

In fact, for the past couple of months i've been forced to use Firefox due to some other software corrupting javascript in IE, I only recently found the solution and now i'm back with IE.

If Det wants to use Internet Explorer, thats his choice. Unlike the vast majority of IE users, he understands the dangers and how to avoid them. Him using IE isnt as bad as, say, his grandmother, who would likely be the victim of any number of IE worms.

Det using IE doesnt bother me - its all those poor Joe Sixpacks that should be using something else that bothers me.

I find it stupid that he thinks I was somehow overshadowing IE or somehow bashing it. And anyone using IE scares me. The thing's got more holes than Napoleon's army in Russia.

For the record, it was Norton Systemworks which screwed up IE. It also screwed up a whole lot of other things.

I should point out, that when I was using AdAware/Spybot combination and thought I was getting rid of all the spyware, I wasn't. Webroot Spysweeper (link) found almost 2000 references that had been missed.

For the record, it doesn't matter. AdAware, Spybot, and Housecall keep my PC clean as a whistle, and I don't trust anything else. Until it starts becoming as renowned as those 3 programs, I'm not touching it.
