Seriously, I don't think I've had as much fun playing a Demo of a game since this came out. I honestly can't wait for the 18th. This game is so awesome.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

I haven't played the demo, but have planned on buying it since early this year.

I downloaded it last night on XBL but haven't had time to play it yet. What's so great about it? (not sarcasm) I've honestly read nothing about this game, just heard the hype.

It's freaken awesome :awesome:

Imagine the most cheesy, action-packed, cliched zombie movie that you can, then imagine it as an FPS. You get situations with literally many dozens of zombies on screen charging you down. Cutting down a swathe of zombies with a shotgun or dual pistols is oh so very very satisfying.

It's like the first-person arcade shooter version of Resident Evil. Rediculously over the top but rediculously fun.

But yet as I recall there is like zero story, and I'm inclined to feel that it would get really ****ing old fast.

Because the story mode in Counter-Strike is SO enthralling.

It looks like it's probably the greatest zombie game ever, but

why are there so many frigggg. zombie games? Why can't someone think up some new scenario? It would seem they are zombies themselves, or at least zombie-like pople

heck, why don't they have a MP game based on the Time Machine with the morlocks versus the hippy slave caste? I mean, yeah, the gameplay would be imbalanced, it'd be some sort of krazzy hipp massacre sim, but come on, at least it's an original thought, more than anyone at Valve has ever come up with (Half-Life isn't even original, it's a rip-off of The Arrival featuring Charlie Freeman/Gordan Sheen).

I played through the demo SP, it was fun. I'll hop online later...

Wow, I do. However I heard that the reason they changed them is because the old skins were often mistaken for zombies so they had to be changed into more obviously human skins. I can see how someone would think that those skins are zombies at a glance, since they are quite grubby and dirty.

I like that black guy skin a lot better than the current one though. :(

@ ted sandyman: there are so many zombie games because zombies are freaking awesome and not very many games have nailed the zombie atmosphere yet. Also zombie games are by no means the most overdone genre out there. I'd say it's quite underdone as a matter of fact. WWII games, though... hoo boy.

It's great fun. My only fear is that the game will be too short. Even with the 'AI director 'mixing it up, those 2 maps included in the demo get old fairly quick. Hopefully VS. mode can keep it interesting.

Actually it's one and a half maps... in spectator mode you can see an entire huge long outdoor street area in the second level after the safe house. So even with just 20 maps it shouldn't be too bad since most of them will be longer than the demo levels.

It was fun. One problem I see, though, is trying to play coop with four human players - you'll die too easily. The AI shot at bad guys I never even saw - humans won't know where the enemies are like computers do.

But that's part of the fun. I've got a group of 3 other guys I play with and we plan to run through the game on Expert the first time through. We tried it on the demo and kept getting slaughtered about halfway through the subway. In one of those attempts, we didn't even get the new weapons.

I just tried downloading this, but the stupid active live account doesn't have the privileges to download it >< The kids parents must have blocked him from those games haha.

I DID download Mirrors Edge though, that was fun.

perhaps a stubbs sequel...vastly underrated game IMO, if a little unpolished.

I'm gonna download it on steam since stupid live won't let me. Hopefully my computer won't die trying to play it.

Is just the source engine, with a couple new things. If you can handle HL2/TF2, you'll be fine.

Given how the Zombies actually look, I don't think that's very true...

Hmm I just downloaded it, started it up, everything is black. I can see the highlighted shotgun and med kit, and the names of my party, along with the hud.
Rest is black.
Anyone know wtf is going on?!

This game is fun, but I think it could get old fast. It's also a little tough to find a good team of four, but that when you do it's really fun.

So, I picked up the Xbox version yesterday. It is extremely fun. I had 4 of buddies over, and we took turns getting through the first quarter of the game. It's the most fun I've had playing a video game in many years (probably since Goldeneye). There's something fun about hearing one of your friends scream like a girl because he goes around a corner and runs right into a huge scary mutant zombie or a rampaging horde of the undead (I'll admit, I did it too).

This game is AMAZING.

It helps that on my dorm floor four of us all bought the game at the same time, so we're working through the campaigns together on expert and having a BLAST doing it.

I prefer this sort of game on a console, just because it's more fun to play when you actually have people in the room with you.
