Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

Tell me about it. I worked nights for over a year, Tuesday night to Sunday morning. I rarely saw /anyone/.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

Hey JLee, how's it going? You seem like a pretty decent dude.

I'm doing well...work is pretty slow, though. I was going to pick up an OT shift on Friday night (off Wed/Thurs/Fri), but it turned out that it didn't have to be covered..so I'm just working a 3hr high school dance on Friday (I'm gonna feel old)...then back to work Saturday night.
woot!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but being slow, in your line of work, is a good thing.

Yes, it is a good thing.

However, sometimes it's boring as hell. Would be nice if we could get paid to sleep like the fire guys do! :awesome:

Night shifts is fun compared to waking up at 4 and driving a truck until 14. 4 is the worst possible time to wake up. :|

a few weeks ago i had a 33 hours work day. That was fun. And surely safe. Basically the last 12 hours my veins were pumping almost clean caffeine and i couldn't sleep when i finally got home. Running a transport company is fun :P

Hah! My friend is a firefighter, the guy makes me mad because he doesn't even sleep before going to work. He stays up all night, goes to work and sleeps. There has only been once when he got burned (not literally) by it and had calls all day long.

I used to have a similar work schedule back when I worked in a metal workshop. I would get up around 2pm, stay up from 2pm to 11pm, go to work through to 7am, then sleep. Repeat cycle.

I personally liked this.

being awake when everyone else is asleep isn't so bad... because you are awake at the best time... when all the drunks and crazies are out
eat right, exercise, die anyway

My dad drives trucks in repeating shifts. 4 days night, 4 days off, 4 days day, 4 days off, repeat.

The part I hate the most is that I have to be quiet during the day so he can sleep...

Have no fear JLee, I'm usually awake until 3 or 4 AM. Damned insomnia. :(

Three's company.

That's a retarded saying.

But I wouldn't call it insomnia so much as just I can't quite my mind enough to fall asleep till my body is exhausted from staying up till 3.

Man I remember when people wondered why I was up at nights until they realized that I'm from Sweden. Good times.

The mom of a friend of mine used to work nights all the time. Then she got cancer and died.

"good"?

Personally I think Krokodile VII, son of Krokodile VI is a great storyteller.
