torrent client for linux?

intrepid ibex. any suggestions?
i've got mutorrent for vista and i like it.

btw, i'm finally dual booting my inspiron 1525.
i started with red hat 6.1 back in the day and at one time i was triple booting with mandrake, red hat 7 and windows 2000. i installed and tried everything red hat from 6.1 to fc4. debian and gen.too. kde and gnome and enlightenment i could never fully make the switch. something was always missing. other than graphics editing (gimp... i know, i know) i think i might be good to go now. i'm hoping intrepid ibex will do my hdmi port well. i'll test that later.

off topic but on topic, my son's high school has almost completely switched to open office. i was so happy to hear that.

Transmission is pretty good for bt. I think it's the default in ubuntu, you should have it already.

I don't really use ftp anymore (since it's so insecure) but if you must, try gftp, it's okay. Similar to filezilla (but slower). You should learn how to use scp :)

I use rtorrent everywhere. I uses ncurses, though, so its probably not what you want.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Konqueror or KIO slaves under KDE apps, GNOME probably has something similar.

Anyways. Try Deluge or Transmission for GUI torrent applications.

FIlezilla is cross-platform. You can get it from the multiverse repository. (you probably need to enable that)
Or you can just connect under Places > Connect to Server

Rtorrent is lush. Can set up an automatic watch directory that will start anything saved to it, script events [eg stop after certain ratio, or move when completed], and manage it all through ssh or a web frontend. I use it on my headless server and it is perfect.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

But it's a bloated mass of Java fail.

Transmission on OSX (runs on Linux too) and KTorrent on FreeBSD. I have used rtorrent, though I never bothered to script anything in it. Might be worth another look.

yeah. i like to get people's opinions here though. i know most of the people (still) and respect what they have to say and why they say it and like to take it into consideration. i've been pleasantly surprised more than a few times taking someone's app advice here that i thought i'd never take (as odd as that sounds).
