Does my little brother spend too much time on the PS3?

He bought Bioshock for his PS3 and he beat the game in like 4 days. I don't know anything about this game except for that I share a name (Andrew Ryan) with one of the characters and that freaks me out. He's 12 years old. Is this game easy to beat or is he spending too much time on it? I remember when I was that age taking like months to beat games.

I beat HL2 the day it came out. Started at around 8am when it was released, took 11 hours off and on, 4 hours beaks for meals and work. Beat it by 11pm.

Of course that was Easy, went back and did Hard in a couple days.

Yeah that's not too long a time. Games are wicked short these days. I rented Mirror's Edge yesterday and beat it in one day, despite spending half of it doing other stuff.
DO NOT WANT.

Gears of War II took me like... eight hours. It might have taken longer alone, though. (I played the entire campaign through for the very first time in co-op.)

Bioshock was... eh. Probably about 7 hours on easy.

Thanks. In this case, it appears my little brother is a TOTAL NOOOB :downswords:

You know, back when I was little, I believed gaming will reach its peak of greatness when graphics become wonderful. I never factored in production costs and time.

Funny how 6-8 hours of playtime is considered the "norm". I guess that's why we focus on multiplayer and achievements lot more.

Now that I think about it, I don't remember how long it took me to beat Bioshock (PC) but I had a low framerate so... I suppose I could have beaten it a bit faster with better hardware.

I'm sure it took me less than a week.

It didn't take me that long because I loved it so much.

I just finished Far Cry 2 a few minutes ago, with close to 50 hours of gameplay. Hell yeah.

I beat Turok in 3 days on hard. wish they would've had 'inhuman' mode unlocked to begin with, i haven't really touched the game since. =\

I don't think I took 4 days to beat Bioshock. It's not a long game.

It took me about ten minutes to get bored with bioshock. does that count?

No, because in ten minutes you don't unlock many aspects of the game that makes BIOSHOCK, well, BIOSHOCK.

In the olden days you could beat pretty much every game in less than an hour, it didn't make them bad. Of course, they did have replay value.

Almost all the games I've played over the years have taken weeks if not months to beat playing a few hrs a day :x

Weeks:
Mario 64
Bomberman 64 1&2
Various Zelda games
Valkyrie Profile

Months:
Final Fantasy games

And saber is right, I'm almost 40 hrs into Far Cry 2 and not done

I bought bioshock a week and a bit ago, and I don't think I'm near finished. I've still got half the bathesphere locations to fill up.

Yea, which is why I quit WoW.
It was cool until I started getting to level 60 (The cap then)
At that point, you need to dedicate half your day to have any fun.
Leveling up to then in instances was cool and fun and only took a couple hours max.

I quit wow for this purpose.

I need to quit eve (cry)

Most games you're lucky to get more than 40 hours out of, especially shooters. COD4 was probably the biggest single player disappointment of my life. A regular gamer could beat that game in less than 6 hours. Good thing it had multiplayer (xbox 360 has turd MP).

My stats page informs me that I got almost 1000 hours out of Gears of War in the 2 years since it came out.

I've already invested over 100 hours into Gears2.

But the thing is, while 1000 hours is a **** load of time, I don't play that much. I just don't play anything else...

(I think it was worth the $60.)
