No. The airplane can't take off; if it engages it's engines it will fall into the sea and sink. The boat cannot attain the plane's take-off speed.

Pommy's pic just looks like a giant sea plane if you ask me. Sea planes definately fly.

edit: found a similar model that used two planes and worked okay.
