Discuss Google's new improvements introduced in the past few days. On youtube, there's 16:9 format videos and HD support. If one has uploaded a video in 16:9 previously, it'll automatically convert to it with the widescreen output or whatever. iGoogle improvements, such as fullsreen gadgets. Kyle90 and I are considering trying to figure out how to get a massassi gadget. Fullscreen googlemaps says mb.

EDIT: Unfortunately youtube videos are still embedded like a square instead of a rectangle, such as the ones used on youtube.com :( So post youtube videos and discuss how awesome google is.

EDIT: Thanks to goons, here's the Tropic Thunder ending in hd

Also here is some Capoeira. I love the ginga by the girl in the yellow shirt. This video isn't widescreened. In fact, the only widescreened videos I've seen so far are the CMX ones (such as the video above).

Wow. How many servers does Youtube use? And how much coolant has to be placed?

Embedded youtube videos are only squares because that's how CoolMatty hardcoded it.

All he has to do is tweak the code and he can make them any size he wants.

Yea, pretty cool, I watched some video earlier today and was impressed. The ending of that clip makes me want to see Tropic Thunder right now.

I still think it's daft that they've introduced widescreen without making the box match the aspect ratio of the film. Pillarboxes suck, and things that were alreadys widescreen and made letterbox to compensate for the box size now get a nice thick black border all the way round.

:P
nope.

They have their reasons, I'm sure.
